Road construction resumes near Emma Lake

Jun 4, 2013 | 12:00 PM

Work began Wednesday on a 6.3 kilometre portion of the Emma Lake Access Road from its junction with Highway 263 to the northwest. Crews are also working on a section of the Murray Point Campground Access Road from its junction with the Emma Lake Access Road to the north.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane during construction and motorists passing through the area are advised to watch for soft portions and fresh gravel.

Paving will start as early as next week. Weather permitting the area should be cleared by late summer.

Work at the Emma Lake Access Road has been on hold since 2010. Contractor scheduling conflicts and wet weather conditions are being blamed.
