Two Miles for Mary helps seniors travel

Oct 6, 2010 | 5:27 PM

Two Miles For Mary is another huge success.

A Radio-a-thon on 900 CKBI this morning raised more than $26,000 for the Seniors Transportation Program.

There was also a surprise donation this morning from the Prince Albert fire fighters – a brand new car.

“A new vehicle offsets some of our maintenance costs, which we will now not have. So that also adds about $1,000 to $1,500 to a reduction in the operating budget,” said Merv Bender, the executive director of the Community Service Centre, when explaining how the new car helps.
