St. Mary was the heavy favourite heading into Prince Albert's annual high school football clash Sept.10 at Prime Ministers Park.

However Carlton gave the Marauders everything they could handle before falling 13-11.

The weather conditions called for and dictated a smash mouth grind it out battle on the ground.

Bryce Ethier of St. Mary led all ball carriers with a 109 yard performance, while Jordan Gabriel-Cannon led the Carlton offense rambling for 79 yards. They also scored touchdowns.

The difference in the annual clash was the seven point performance of Cody Sjogren for St. Mary with Carleton's Kevin Howard compiling five points.

Despite the unfavorable conditions, Marauders quarterback Kale Swanson completed six of 14 passes for 98 yards, while Carleton's James Thorpe went seven for 17 for 68 yards.

St. Mary’s defence shored up the victory picking off five passes.
