A company that specializes in running popular, high-end retirement homes is hoping to build in Tisdale.

People in the Tisdale area, who are ready for a retirement home, will no longer have to look elsewhere. Caleb Group, a company that specializes in running retirement communities, is looking for the town's support before they build a new complex.

Gord Mamer, economic development director for Tisdale, is expecting people will be quite happy with the building and the services.

“I think it (will have) a really positive effect on Tisdale,” he said.

“Really I believe it’s more of a regional thing for us here. There's 94 suites in there, let’s try and get some seniors together that have made this area their home for years and continue to do that.”

Caleb Group plans to build the seniors complex across the street for the Tisdale Hospital. They are having an open house on Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Golden Age Center in Tisdale.

“There has to be so many condos pre-sold and then once that number is reached, then they can go ahead with construction,” said Mamer.

The level of care this retirement home would offer is something the Tisdale community hasn't seen before.
