Man arrested for two hit-and-runs

Nov 13, 2012 | 5:38 AM

A man was arrested and will appear in court next week for two alleged drunk driving hit-and-run incidents in the same night.

Police responded to a call on Nov. 9 to Johnson Crescent for a call of a driver who had collided with a parked car then drove off

Sgt. Kelly McLean said that while officers responded they received yet another call.

“While en route to this call, officers were updated to another complaint of a hit-and-run,” he said.

This one occurred at the 1400-block of 13th Street West.

“The suspect's vehicle was located… on River Street and First Avenue East with severe front-end damage,” McLean said.

“Emergency equipment was activated, with the suspect vehicle stopping … after hitting a curb and coming to a stop in the street.”

Police arrested a 25-year-old Prince Albert male following the traffic stop.

He was charged with two counts of hit-and-run, impaired driving and operating a vehicle with a blood-alcohol content over the legal limit.

The man will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Dec. 18.
