A local Prince Albert chiropractor is being honoured by the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan (CAS).

CAS awarded Dr. David Buettner with a Life Membership for his contributions to the chiropractic profession.

“A Life Membership in the Chiropractors’ Association of Saskatchewan is awarded to chiropractors who have demonstrated excellence in the profession and provided exemplary service to their patients, profession and the Association,” CAS president, Dr. Darryl Kashton said in a release.

After graduating from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1976, Dr. Buettner almost immediately started contributing to his profession.

In 1978 he joined the CAS Board of Directors and over the next ten years he served as registrar, vice president, and president.

He also sat on many CAS committees and served on the Board of the Canadian Chiropractor’s Association from 1992-1998.

Dr. Buettner has volunteered his time and expertise to other areas of the community.

He was vice president of the Prince Albert Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, president of the Saskatchewan German Council and was a board member of the Prince Albert Parkland Regional Health Authority.

He was given the award at the CAS annual general meeting held in Regina on Sept 15.
