Ken Miller steps down as head coach of Roughriders

Dec 2, 2010 | 10:13 AM

Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Ken Miller has announced his resignation as head coach of the team, but says he will continue on as the vice-president of football operations.

He said it's been a decision that's been in the works for more than a year. He is satisfied he did his best work to achieve a Grey Cup victory.

Miller said the reason he is stepping down is for personal, family reasons. He thanked his wife for everything she has done to support his career and for the work she has done in the community. He said his reasons for stepping down extend beyond her to his children and grandchildren.

He said that although the decision is an emotionally-charged one, he made it based on objective, rational thought. His health wasn't an issue in the decision, Miller said.
