Nov 3, 2010 | 10:29 PM

Prince Albert SK- The Prince Albert Raiders snap a 7 game losing skid with a 5-2 victory over the Spokane Chiefs.

The Raiders opened the scoring at 3:05 of the first period when Justin Maylan redirected a Tyler Yaworksi point shot past Mac Engel to get up 1-0.

The Raiders would double their lead just 1:29 later when rookie Todd Fiddler made a nifty move around the Chief defender to gain the zone, then hit a flying Mark McNeill with a rink wide pass that McNeill ripped glove side past Engel.

The Chiefs would respond though with 2 goals of their own at 11:35 and 18:04 of the first period to tie the game at 2.

It was Fiddler and McNeill teaming up again to give the Raiders their 2nd lead of the game with just 11 seconds to go in the first period. With the faceoff to the left of Engel, McNeill was able to tie up the opposing centreman and kick the puck to Fiddler who broke in from the wing and wristed the puck top shelf for his 2nd point of the night to put the Raiders up 3-2 heading into the 3rd.

The Chiefs responded with pressure after getting down by 1 but Eric Williams had an exceptional performance to keep the Raiders up by 1. The Raiders would help their goaltender out when Mike Winther put the Raiders up by 2 when after the faceoff was able to scoop the puck, skate into the slot and beat Engel five hole to put the Raiders up by 2 with just under 6 minutes left in the game.

Mark McNeill would get his 2nd of the night on an empty net goal with 1 minute left in the game to give the Raiders the 5-2 victory.
