Early morning farm fire

Between 40 and 50 bales of hay are still burning on a property about 11 kilometres west of Prince Albert.

According to the fire department the blaze is under control, but fire crews remain on scene to monitor it.

They are watching the wind direction because the fire is in the middle of a yard with vehicles and buildings nearby.

According to the farm owner, he was using the loader to work with the bales when the fire began.

It was probably due to an electrical shortage in the equipment, he said.

There were no injuries and the only loss to the farmer was those bales of hay, worth between $35 to $40 a piece and the loader.
