Late night River Rescue
May 7, 2011 | 2:36 AM
A leisurely paddle down the North Saskatchewan River got two people in trouble with police this morning.
At around 2 a.m. police and fire were dispatched to the river bank after a bystander witnessed a canoe and kayak in the water.
The fire department deployed its river rescue unit and used a zodiac to retrieve both boats.
The two people were brought to shore unharmed. Police are investigating whether the boats were stolen.
