Witness recalls account of car fire

Kevin Quill lives in the 900 block of River Street West and was awoken early Saturday morning to a horrific sound.

“At 1 in the morning, I heard screaming, then another scream, then my girlfriend looked out the window and saw the car on fire,” said Quill.

Quill said his girlfriend called 911, and then they went outside and got a closer look at the fire.

“It looked pretty bad. I didn’t think anyone was in there until we got over there, and we could see someone in there,” said Quill.

Quill said he could see the motionless body of a person in the back seat.
