Jun 4, 2011 | 7:21 AM

Two children missing from Florida were found in Estevan.

Police were tipped off by the RCMP International Border Enforcment Team that a vehilce with Florida plates, flagged by sheriffs in Panama City, was seen in Estevan. The car was camped out in a Walmart parking lot since May 21.

Police eventually apprehend two children, ages nine and 12 years old from the vehicle that also had two adult occupants, the children's grandparents.

Upon apprehending the children, Estevan police did not take the grandparents into custody because there were no warrants out for their arrest.

Const. Don Dechief with the Estevan police said the children seemed fine when taken into custody.

“Maybe they thought it was just a trip, it’s hard to say. I don’t think they were aware of the situation as far as I could tell. But they seemed to be okay,” said Dechief.

According to police, the adults tried to get the children back and solicited help from the people of Estevan but were unsuccessful. Police said the pair uttered death threats and were arrested on Friday, June 3. They are now facing charges.

The State of Florida has issued warrants for both adults for concealing a minor contrary to a court order.

Estevan police have turned over the children's grandparents to RCMP and Canadian Border Services Agency.

Meanwhile, the two children are in the care of the Ministry of Social Services and should be reunited with their mother in Florida by Saturday or Sunday.
