Co-op packed for the first day

The Prince Albert Co-op Marketplace store held its soft opening today, which resulted in an overflowing parking lot and product flying off the shelves.

The 43,000 sq. ft. store in Cornerstone is picking up where the old downtown store left off when it closed on Monday.

For the next week, the store will be in soft opening mode, to work out the kinks before the official grand opening ceremony next Friday.

“This week is to make sure and fix all the little things that might go wrong so we’re ready for our grand opening on the 17th,” said Dave Marchant, Co-op general manager.
