Jun 11, 2011 | 9:11 AM

The Literacy Office, Saskatchewan Ministry of Education, is pleased to announce the 2011 SaskSmart Innovations Fund program. Full details, application forms, and the budget template can be found on the Ministry of Education website at http://www.education.gov.sk.ca/literacy/funding/sasksmart-innovations-fund/. For your convenience, the guidelines for SSIF funding are attached.

The SaskSmart Innovations program is designed to assist communities across Saskatchewan in implementing sustainable community literacy plans. Funding of up to $70,000 is available for qualifying communities. Organizations that are not yet ready to submit a full community literacy plan can apply for up to $10,000 to do literacy needs assessments and inventories in preparation for submitting a full literacy plan proposal to the fund in 2012 – 2013.

To assist communities in the process, pre-application workshops will be hosted by the Saskatchewan Aboriginal Literacy Network and the Saskatchewan Literacy Network in Prince Albert, Saskatoon, and Moose Jaw. For more information, and to register for a workshop, please contact the Saskatchewan Literacy Network at saskliteracy@sasktel.net.
