News Talk 980 CJME and News Talk 650 CKOM worked with the Canadian Red Cross to make a difference to those affected by flooding, Wednesday.

The 12-hour Saskatchewan Day of Caring for Flood Relief radio-a-thon raised $521,988 to help residents of Saskatchewan deal with devastating floods and the lasting damage..

More than 1,800 people have been evacuated due to flooding and hundreds of others have remained in their homes, dealing with washed-out access roads and flooded basements.

Some of the hardest-hit communities are Carry the Kettle, Cowessess, Estevan, Lebret, Roche Percee, Sakimay, Standing Buffalo, and Weyburn where residents were forced to evacuate when flood waters threatened their homes and cut off access for many.
