Craven camping moving to higher ground

Jun 30, 2011 | 8:57 AM

There will be camping at the Craven Country Jamboree but this year the campground is moving to higher ground.

According to a news release, the campground will be located north of Highway 11 on the Regina Beach side of the valley, behind the Valley Storage facility.

The camping area will include all reserved and general camping areas. There will be day parking beside the site.

The new area will be open on July 10 at 9 a.m. Organizers say patrons will not be allowed to line up before this time.

Festival campers will be rerouted north on Highway 11 to the new site. Continual bus service will then transport campers to the festival.

There will be no couches or other furniture allowed in the camping area, nor will patrons be allowed to stake off general camping sites. Patrons, however, can save 20-by-40 feet spots for friends and family.

Amenities at the campground will include showers, port-a-potties, lights, water, security, dumpsters, ice, ambulance and fire protection.

Festival-goers who are not camping will have a SGI Saferide, with locations departing from three Regina shopping malls and the Moose Jaw mall.

The Regina Hotel Association will provide daily bus service from each of their hotels.
A disabled shuttle will also be available from the camping site to the festival site.

There will be a lawn chair check service available at the festival.
