Spring seeding slow in Saskatchewan

Jun 30, 2011 | 2:24 PM

Thunderstorms have all but halted the spring seeding process in Saskatchewan, according to the Ministry of Agriculture's most recent crop report.

Saskatchewan crop land is still standing at 82 per cent seeded.

Winter wheat, spring wheat, durum, canola, lentils and field peas are all more than 75 per cent in good to fair condition.

No surprise — the majority of crop damage is due to flooding, hail and disease.
