Canadian soldier mural coming to Saskatoon
The faces of every Canadian soldier killed in Afghanistan are painted on a giant mural that is touring across Canada and will be stopping in Saskatoon Aug. 19.
Curtis Kimpton is one of the tour’s coordinators. He said 10 Saskatchewan families have lost someone in Afghanistan, and this painting will be especially meaningful to them.
“The emotion that comes out of these families when they see the painting and see, whether it’s their son, their father, their daughter, their mother… we have so many different people, the run of emotions is quite amazing,” said Kimpton.
He said the “Portraits of Honour Tour” is raising money for military families.
