Saskatchewan Roughriders sign 2 to practice roster

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed two imports to their practice roster.

On Tuesday, the team announced the signing of import receiver Freddie Barnes and import running back Yvenson Bernard.

Financial details were not released.

Barnes, 6-foot-0 and 215 pounds, signed as a free agent with the Chicago Bears in 2010 and spent a portion of the season on their practice roster.

He also holds the NCAA single season reception record (155). He broke Randy Moss’s single season Mid-American Conference yardage record.

Bernard, 5-foot-9 and 196 pounds, spent two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. During his seasons, he played 17 games for 58 carries (358 yards) and one touchdown.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders also released non-import receiver Obed Cetoute from the roster.
