RCMP search for missing person

Aug 10, 2011 | 10:23 AM

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing person.

Albert Justin Custer, 28, was last seen by family, Tuesday, during a mushroom picking expedition about five kilometres south of the Hanson Lake Highway.

The group went back into the woods to pick more, while Custer was left with the vehicles parked at the trail. When they returned Custer was gone.

A storm was coming, so the family searched for about an hour, before bad weather forced them to call off their search.

Custer didn’t have vehicles keys and may have looked for shelter in the woods, said Deschambault Lake RCMP Detachment

At this time, the RCMP police dog service from Meadow Lake is on scene and the RCMP Search and Rescue team will be in the area soon. The area is very remote, with limited cell and police radio coverage.

Custer is described as slim and five-foot-eight. He has brown eyes, black hair, a moustache and goatee.

At the time he was last seen, Custer was wearing a black sleeveless shirt, blue jeans and a black hat.

If people have any information as to the whereabouts of Custer they are asked to contact the Deschambault Detachment at 306-638-2392 or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, *8477 on Sask-Tel Mobility, text TIP206 plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
