Bonneau’s killer described for jury at inquest

Apr 13, 2015 | 3:22 PM

He was just 10 years old, but the boy suspected of beating Lee Bonneau to death on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation two years ago had a long list of run-ins with police.

LT — as he is being called at the inquest into Bonneau’s death being held in Regina at the Court of Queen’s Bench — is the focus of testimony on Monday. This is the second week of the inquest, which is to search out facts and use those facts to develop a series of recommendations so a tragedy like this can be avoided in the future. The jury at the inquest is not to find fault or blame.

RCMP testified that LT claimed to hear voices.  LT is said to have been involved in the killing of a pregnant dog as well as breaking in and trashing homes, and sexually assaulting other children.

Police think LT beat six-year-old Lee to death.
