Crash near Melfort claims one life

A man is dead following a crash near Melfort Monday morning.

According to an RCMP news release the crash happened around 8:30a.m., about 3 kilometers west of the city.

A vehicle was found in a slough, and the driver was found dead nearby in the water.

Melfort RCMP, with the assistance of the Melfort Fire Department were able to retrieve the body from the water.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
