Morrissey wins WHL Player of the Week award
Prince Albert Raiders captain Josh Morrissey is WHL player of the week.
He had three goals and three assists with a plus-6 rating as the Raiders went 3-1 last week, playing four games in five nights. Morrissey opened the week with a goal and two assists last Tuesday in the team’s 5-0 win in Kootenay. Morrissey scored an empty net goal from the corner in the Raider zone.
He counted the final goal in Friday’s 6-3 win in Moose Jaw while going plus-4 on the evening and ended the week with a goal and an assist in Saturday’s 5-2 victory over the Saskatoon Blades at the Art Hauser Centre.
Morrissey will also play for Team WHL in the first two games of the Subway Super Series against the touring Russians next Monday and Tuesday.
