RCMP investigate alleged drunk driver

Nov 14, 2014 | 10:55 AM

Prince Albert RCMP arrested three people after a pursuit on Thursday night.

Cpl. Sol Puentespina with the Prince Albert RCMP said they received complaints from concerned drivers who were travelling down Highway 11.

“We received a few complaints about it, about this vehicle driving erratically,” he said.

Puentespina said RCMP followed the silver four-door car all the way into the city until the Marquis Road Co-op gas bar where they managed to stop the driver.

RCMP then arrested the occupants of the vehicle and towed the was car away from the scene.

Puentespina said the 28-year-old driver was arrested for alleged drunk driving and there were two other passengers in the vehicle, who were both arrested for provincial offences.

“No charges have been laid yet, just an investigation, but charges are pending,” he said.

So far it has not been said if the people facing charges are known to police.

As we head into the Christmas season, Puentespina said, they want drivers to find a safe way home and not drink and drive.

RCMP encourages citizens to use 911 or 310 -RCMP to report any sort of erratic driving.
