Sask. lotto winner running out of time to claim prize
The LOTTO MAX ticket was bought somewhere in Saskatchewan last December. The million-dollar winning selection is 9, 17, 20, 27, 36, 38 and 42.
“We’re sure hoping that somebody just has this tucked away at the back of their glove compartment or something,” Andrea Marantz with the Western Canada Lottery Corporation said.
The winner has until next week to cash in, one year after they purchased the ticket. After that, the ticket becomes worthless.
“Because we have to stick to those rules and regulations when it’s an advantage to our players, we also have to stick to them when it’s a disadvantage ,” Marantz said.
We’re being told that the ticket was not bought in Saskatoon or Regina, but Marantz can’t say exactly where. She says lotteries are required to stick to strict rules and regulations in order to be considered legal.
