Dec 14, 2014 | 12:45 PM

The public is being asked to wear mask if not immunized.

Prince Albert Parkland Health Region’s final drop-in influenza immunization clinics will were held last week in Prince Albert and Spiritwood, as the Region prepares for a new policy to protect patients, residents and community clients goes into effect on Dec. 1, 2014.

The new Immunize or Mask policy adopted by Prince Albert Parkland will require staff members, physicians and volunteers, students and other contractors working in patient care areas (including facilities, clinics and homes) to either have received the influenza vaccine or wear a mask.

The public will also be asked to wear a mask (available at all facilities) when they visit a hospital or long-term care facility, if they have not received the influenza vaccine. Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer has stated that Dec. 1st is the expected start of the influenza season.
