A series of meetings before a judge have finally led to a trial date for a man accused of killing his son and shooting at others on his farm outside Prince Albert last year.

Larry McDougald, 67, was arrested after a confrontation on Oct. 29, 2013. It allegedly involved his son Terry McDougald, 45, and two other men.

Three pre-trial dates at Prince Albert’s Court of Queen’s Bench have led to a two-week long trial starting Sept. 28, 2015.

Terry was shot to death. According to RCMP statements at the time, Larry proceeded to fire the rifle at a second man on the property and then pointed the weapon at a third man.
