2 confirmed dead in late-night highway collision
RCMP have confirmed two people have died after a collision last night on Highway 2.
Yesterday at 8 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP attended the scene roughly 5.5 kilometres north of Prince Albert. A southbound pick-up truck, driven by a 30-year-old man from Little Red River First Nation, crossed over into the northbound lane and collided with an SUV driven by a 66-year-old man from Christopher Lake.
Members of the public who arrived at the collision pulled the 30-year old man from the truck before the truck caught on fire.
Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene. A 62-year-old female passenger of the SUV was taken to hospital with multiple injuries. RCMP will not be releasing the names of the persons involved in the collision.
