UPDATE: Buffalo Narrows incident ends peacefully

UPDATE: Two people were taken into custody without incident. Those who were evacuated are now able to return home, but police will remain in the area.

The RCMP is currently on the scene of an incident in the community of Buffalo Narrows, roughly two and a half hours north of Meadow Lake.

Police said there is no imminent risk to public safety, however, ask residents to follow instructions regarding possible evacuations or traffic detours. RCMP also ask the public to stay clear of the area, specifically to not announce or post on social media police and vehicle locations or activities.

A source has told paNOW’s newsroom an individual or individuals are barricaded in a house, possibly with weapons. This has not been confirmed by police.
