Miss Teen Canada in Prince Albert for Winter Festival

Feb 23, 2013 | 10:05 AM

Miss Teen Canada, Nikita Singh, arrived in Prince Albert on Thursday to celebrate the last weekend of the Winter Festival.

Most of the Festival’s marquee events are held on the final weekend and Singh said she was excited to be a part of them.

On Thursday, she attended one of these popular events, the Country North Show. “You guys have a lot of great talent set up there, so that was really entertaining,” she said.

In a Friday interview, she said she was very excited about going to another “pretty cool” festival favourite, the Scouts’ Tree Burning.

She was also looking forward to a busy weekend, full of outdoor activities, “I’m supposed to be dog-sledding, I’m looking forward to seeing the ice sculptures, and kind of just going on the riverbank.”

Attending these types of community events is nothing new for Singh, who was crowned Miss Teen Canada last May.

In her home province of Ontario she has been to several conferences and events including “Opening up the Keewatin boat in Port McNicoll” and “Going to Bath where they are holding an 1812 showcase this year.”

She holds the crown until sometime in July when the 17th Miss Teen Canada International pageant takes place.
