Saskatchewan Country Closeup – Justine Sletten

Apr 5, 2022 | 12:34 PM

From the first notes of “Up” by Shania Twain, Justine Sletten was hooked and made her decision to launch her career in the music industry. Justine’s music ranges from the upbeat, new country style of Kelsea Ballerini and classic Taylor Swift to the country pop sound made famous by Shania Twain, all women that have influenced the progression of her sound.

Justine’s debut EP, entitled Groundbreaking was released in July of 2017.  For the next few years Justine concentrated on developing her musicianship, social media and building skills in the music industry while finishing high school.

Performing since the age of 14, Justine has used competitions to help her gain confidence on stage. In 2018 Justine competed in the Global Country Canada Star Search, winning the opportunity to travel to Nashville. While there she worked with industry professionals and competed in an international competition, winning 1st in songwriting and 2nd in performance. Justine’s other career highlight was when her debut EP Groundbreaking spent its first three days in the Top 10 Country Albums in Canada on iTunes.

Justine is excited to share her new music in the hopes that it will help to take her career to the next level. Although she will always love her Saskatchewan home she is hopeful that her hard work and determination will one day help her to share her music around the world!

Justine joined us on the Saskatchewan Country Closeup to talk new music, live shows, and what’s on the way this year.
