Webinar series on backyard chickens

MEDICINE HAT, ALTA. – A month-long Alberta Farm Animal Care webinar series looking at some of the issues surrounding backyard chickens wraps up next week.

The Advanced Chicken Care’s final session, on July 29, is titled Chicken Health Part 2: Home Care vs. Vet Care. It begins at 7 p.m. and will take place on Zoom.

Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite and you can also purchase tickets for the past sessions – Routine Checks and Monitoring Bird Health, Advanced Coop Design, Enrichments and Nutrition, and Chicken Health Part 1: Biosecurity and Disease.

The idea of being allowed to raise a small flock of chickens comes up in Medicine Hat every now and then, most recently when a petition was started near the start of May.
