Bayer and Saskatchewan Government partner on Ag-Tech to lower emissions
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe and Bayer Crop Science announced a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) at COP28 to explore sustainable agriculture technologies, with a goal of lowering greenhouse gas emissions in farming.
COP28 is an international climate summit that brings together leaders and stakeholders from around the world to collaborate on issues related to climate change. Currently, 198 countries, plus the EU, participate in the convention. COP28 is being held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and wraps up tomorrow.
Moe said this will help build and protect farming communities and will focus on digital farming, smart farming and precision farming.
“We’re very pleased that Bayer is interested in exploring Saskatchewan’s innovation capabilities. Together, we can help create new solutions for global food security and sustainability,” Moe said in a news release.
