The 20-year-old, now in his third season with the club, said he was very excited when he got the news.

“I got a text from my dad, and he was like, ‘congratulations.’ I just didn’t know if it was going to be or not, and then it happened, and I was just pumped.”

Zultok has scored 52 goals and added 25 assists so far this season. He leads the PJHL in goals and total points with 77.

Despite his success on the ice, the Titans have only mustered eight wins so far this season. Zultok said it has been an up and down year, but they still have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.

“Overall, I think we have a pretty good team and we’re in a playoff spot. We have a chance to still do well, and hopefully, we can win our next few games before the playoffs.”

When talking about his success this season, Zultok credited his teammates and coaching staff with helping him along the way and eventually to winning the MVP.

The Titans wrap up the regular season this weekend with a game against the Delisle Chiefs on Friday and their final match against the Saskatoon Westleys on Sunday.
