Peace Country farm families saluted at Edmonton farm show

GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. – Farmfair has paid tribute to 25 Alberta farm families, including several from the Peace Country.

Farmfair gave out its Farm Family Awards for 2020 and 2021 at a lunch held Friday.

Recipients for 2021 included Jerome and Liz Isaac from the MD of Greenview, Kelly and Christi Friesen from the MD of Peace, Rick and Cheryl Hessler from Saddle Hills County, Steve, Dana and Louis Tokarz from the MD of Smoky River, and Fred and Darice Laughy from the MD of Lesser Slave River.

2020 recipients include Jim and Cheryl Sheldon from Big Lakes County, Preston and Julie Basnett from Clear Hills County, Gary and Daphne Ray from the County of Grande Prairie, and Jason and Amber Kuester from the County of Northern Lights.

The awards recognize upholding the values of family farms and contributing to the community.
