Beef Pen Show and Cowboy Christmas Tradeshow back after one-year hiatus

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Annual Beef Pen Show and Cowboy Christmas Tradeshow is returning to the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede next month.

The Beef Pen Show features commercial cattle exhibitors, purebred cattle exhibitors and 4H classes and a variety of breeds for the cattle producer industry.

The event will take place Dec. 17-18 a the Cypress Centre.

On Friday, All Breed Steak Sampling will take place at 6 p.m. in the auditorium, followed by the Purebred Breeders Commercial Open Heifer Show, Purebred Heifer Show, and the Commercial Open Heifer Show.

Saturday starts with a pancake breakfast starting at 8 a.m., followed by 4H Shows, Commercial Bred Heifer Show, Purebred Bull Pen Show, and the Cattlemen’s Choice.

Saturday also includes the Cowboy Christmas Tradeshow beginning at 9 a.m. It will feature jewelry, baking, candles, western tack, leather gloves, wooden toys and more.

Stampede general manager Kara Brake says they are excited to welcome exhibitors and patrons back to the 23rd annual show after having to cancel it in 2020 due to COOVID-19 restrictions.

The Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede is participating in the Restrictions Exemption Program. All vendors and patrons are required to provide proof of vaccination (QR Code only), a privately-paid negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours, or documentation of a medical exemption. Rapid tests will be available on-site at a cost of $40.
