Block wins re-election in Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek

Sep 20, 2021 | 11:32 PM

Conservative incumbent Kelly Block has been voted in once again in the Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek riding.

Block said she didn’t take anything for granted over the past few weeks on the campaign trail.

“We worked hard over the past five weeks getting on the doorstep and calling into the riding,” Block said. “I am just really grateful for the voters of the Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek for putting their confidence in me once again.”

Next up for Block is taking some time to re-connect with family and take care of a few things.

“I look forward to seeing when we may be called back to Ottawa, continue to working hard as her majesty’s loyal opposition,” she said.

Over 22,000 constituents voted in Block’s favour to beat out NDP’s Shannon O’Toole, People’s Party of Canada’s (PPC) Mike Bohach, Harrison Adruschak of the Liberal party, Cherese Reemaul of the Green party, and Diane Pastoor of the Maverick party.

Block has been a Member of Parliament for the past 13 years, six of those for the Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek riding.

In the Yorkton Melville riding, Conservative incumbent Cathay Wagantall also reclaimed her seat. Wagantall also had over 22,000 votes following Monday’s federal election.

Wagantall beat out NDP’s Halsten Rust, PPC’s Braden Robertson, Liberal candidate Jordan Ames-Sinclair, Denise Loucks of the Maverick Party, and Green Party candidate Valerie Brooks.
