Dec 11, 2020 | 9:30 AM

Results Driven Agriculture Research is highlighting a new, updated website.

The producer-led RDAR was established in March. It is a non-profit producer-led company that operates at arm’s length from the Government of Alberta and determines and funds industry-wide research priorities to enhance producers’ competitive advantage.

In October, RDAR and the provincial agriculture and forestry ministry reached a $37-million annual agreement that will prioritize agriculture research projects of particular importance to farmers and ranchers in the province.

Dr. David Chalack, chair of RDAR said at the time, “this milestone allows RDAR to operate fully, start to fund projects to get the results that matter most to Alberta’s producers, while contributing to a strong, vibrant and profitable agriculture industry in Alberta. RDAR is where big ideas grow.”

You can view the new RDAR website here.

Research priorities for RDAR include:

  • Enhanced productivity, profitability and competitiveness
  • Sustainable and responsible agricultural production
  • Market demands: food safety, quality, value-added products and diversification
  • Extension and knowledge transfer

Nichole, Neubauer, owner and operator of Neubauer Farms is a board member. Neubauer and her family run Neubauer Farms, a mixed farming operation outside Medicine Hat.

There are 33 Class A Voting members of RDAR including Alberta Beef Producers, Alberta Milk and the Western Barley Growers Association.
