CALGARY, AB. — With snow on the ground and crops in the bin the ranching industry entres a bit of a quieter period. However, it`s a good time for ranchers to take advantage of the opportunity to beef up their industry knowledge.

With that in mind, Katelyn Laverdure, Communications Manager for Alberta Beef Producers (ABP), says planning is complete for a number of ABP industry webinars. “We`ve got more Webinars going on in the industry in an effort to keep producers informed about what`s going on in their industry and some of the tools and information that we have available.“

Laverdure refers to specific webinars and their dates.

“The beef cattle research Council has a `Combating invasive weeds`webinar coming up on October 28. The Canadian round-table for sustainables is offering a `Supporting health and safety in the Canadian Beef Industry` on November 3.

Then on November 18, the Beef Cattle Research council is also offering a key financial tools webinar that will feature a presentation from Farm Credit Canada, and the two are also joining forces for a Canadian round table for sustainable beef webinar, featuring a speaker from the Beef Cattle Research Council, on quality and safety in Canadian beef.`

Laverdure encourages any interested beef producer to obtain more information on how to participate in the webinars:`

“This is a good way for producers to stay connected and stay informed about the work that`s being done on their behalf through check-off dollars and they can find all of the registration for these upcoming webinars on the producers home page of AlbertaBeef.org.

You can also find past webinars that you`ve missed from these groups on their websites – either under their events sections or in their resources.”
