RCMP arrest man in connection with Dillon incident

Dillon RCMP have arrested the man allegedly responsible for a near-fatal incident in the northern community. 

Dakota Scott Montgrand, 23, has been charged with a litany of offences including attempted murder, assault with a weapon, and uttering death threats.

He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in La Loche Provincial Court via CCTV today.

Last Friday, RCMP in Dillon were searching for a suspect responsible for shooting a man. While police called it an isolated incident, social media posts from members of the Buffalo River Dene Nation council, asked residents to lock their doors and avoid going outside.

Dillon is a northern community located roughly 450 kilometres northwest of Prince Albert.
