The Prince Albert Council for the Arts, in partnership with the Prince Albert Downtown Association, is coordinating the second annual Urban Art Tour taking place Saturday, September 30, 2017 in beautiful downtown Prince Albert.
The Urban Art Tour is one of four cultural events taking place in Prince Albert during Saskatchewan’s Culture Day weekend.
The main goal of the Prince Albert Urban Art Tour is to link the general public with local, working artists and their work.
Local businesses will host an artist(s) in their place of business during the tour hours of 11 am – 5 pm with 26 businesses participating. Each artist will do their artwork, interact with customers and answer questions about the making of their art. Depending on the space available, each artist will be welcome to bring a selection of their finished work for sale. The artist will benefit from the traffic coming to the business who may not be connected to the art scene in PA, in turn the business would profit from exposure by patrons visiting the business for the art tour. Participating businesses will have posters in the window and a small sandwich board on the sidewalk. Additionally, each business will have maps for downtown art tourists indicating the locations of the participating businesses and which artist(s) they are hosting.
