Feb 13, 2015 | 12:44 PM

Spotlight on Talent features: In With the Old February 21st at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts. Show starts at 7:30 p.m.

In With The Old is a Saskatchewan Bluegrass band which includes the members Jaxon Lalonde, 15; the banjo/bass player, Kasia Thorlakson, 16; mandolin, guitar, and bass player, and Ellen Froese Kooijenga, 18, guitar and mandolin player in this bluegrassy, old timey, folk band trio.

They released a CD last summer and have since been turning some heads in the music scene. They launched their success with a national online song contest where they got a lot of votes and recognition and followed up with a Telemiracle spot and that opened up a showcase at the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards which led to a blow out encore standing ovation at the industry gala.

Since then, they have played Danceland, NessCreek Festival, Northern Lights Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival, and The Bassment as well as so many other gigs.

This year Telemiracle has them slotted to do a 45 minute set instead of just a single song. They will be recording another CD soon with a whole list of new originals. They are nominated for awards in this year’s Saskatchewan Country Music Awards. Numerous other great things are on the horizon but some of them cannot be announced to the public yet.
