Sask. group offers help on snowy roads

We’ve all been there: car not starting on a cold winter morning — or even worse, stuck in a snowy back alley or side street.

Now, a group is offering to lend a hand for free.

The 306 Recovery Group was started just over a week ago, it uses Facebook to connect people in need with those able to help.

Member A.J. Hinstock said he’s already pulled a couple people out of sticky situations in city alleys.

“I just do it for the pleasure of helping someone out,” said Hinstock.

He said many members of the group are four-wheel-drive enthusiasts, looking to use skills they learned the hard way on the trails to help out. Hinstock said it’s a great way for the four-wheeling community to give back.

People stuck on the side of the highway are still encouraged to call a professional tow truck due to safety concerns.
