Although he wasn’t behind the wheel, a teen admits he was in a stolen truck involved in a Prince Albert police chase.

The 17-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to break and enter, being in a vehicle taken without consent, and evading police. He can’t be named due to the Youth Justice Act.

The chase on Dec. 15 drew onlookers when the white truck hit another vehicle after running a red light. At the time, police said bystanders tried to provide medical assistance to the man and woman in the vehicle that was hit.

At the time Prince Albert Police reported that three people ran from the truck after the accident. A canine officer apprehended one of the suspects, and two others were found at Victoria Hospital.

He received bail just before Christmas on the conditions that he reports to a youth worker and operates under an 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew unless given permission by his parents, grandparents and parole officer.

The driver, also 17, previously pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property, dangerous operation of a vehicle, operating a vehicle while under police pursuit, and break and enter with intent on Dec. 23.

The driver will not face a trial since he pleaded guilty. He will be back in court later this month.

The two people in the car that was uninvolved in the police chase had minor injuries according to officials at the time.

However the injuries of one victim were visible when she attended the bail hearing for the driver on Dec. 23. She had stitches across her face and moved stiffly as she left the courtroom.
