Search for escaped inmate continues in the Battlefords area

The search for an inmate continues in the Battlefords area after Allen Wright escaped custody Friday afternoon.
RCMP says that the 35-year-old was on an escorted, temporary leave from the Willow Cree Healing Lodge – a minimum-security facility near Duck Lake – to the Moosomin First Nation when he took off. Wright is from the Moosomin First Nation. He’s serving a three-year-five-month sentence for assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, break and enter, and forcible confinement.
The Correctional Service of Canada immediately contacted RCMP Friday when he escaped. Wright is six feet two inches, 256 pounds, with medium complexion, black hair, and brown eyes.
