People who live near the Enbridge Regina Terminal may smell an odour in the air after a spill Tuesday night.

In a release posted to Enbridge’s website, the company says 1,350 barrels of oil were released from its Line 4 pipeline forcing a shut down at 10:55 p.m. on Tuesday. The release was contained within the facility located in Regina’s industrial area.

The release says there are no effects on the public, animals or water, but those who live in the area may smell a faint odour. Cleanup is already underway and is expected to wrap up on Thursday.

Investigators will try to figure out what triggered the release. Enbridge says there is no timeline for when the line will start back up.
