Lost Angels Christmas Memorial Service

Dec 15, 2014 | 1:09 PM

This year the Lost Angels Christmas Memorial service will be held Tuesday December 16th at First Baptist Church, 1351-28th St. East from 6:30 to 8 pm.

Following the service we will have a time of refreshment and relaxation.

Lost Angels is a self-help support group for those who have lost their baby during pregnancy or shortly after birth. We have been helping families in Prince Albert and the surrounding communities since 2002. Christmas is always a particularly difficult time for families who have experienced this type of loss as one more historical memory will be recorded without their baby being present.

One thing we can do is to “re-member” our babies into our Christmas celebrations. While it may be emotionally painful the act of “re-membering” acknowledges the significance of that little life with which we connected, if only for a short time. That life is forever a part of our family history and memory.

One way our family celebrates the short life of Ashley Dawn is to hang her Christmas tree ornament on the tree along with the other children and grandchildren’s ornaments. We have also planted a tree in the back yard to symbolize her value as part of the family, even though, as we believe, she is in heaven with other “Lost Angels”.

Every year Lost Angels memorialize their loved one’s in two annual traditions, the October 15th Rememberance Day for Infant Loss and the Lost Angels Christmas Memorial service. This year the service will be held at First Baptist Church, 1351-28th St. East from 6:30 to 8 pm. Following the service we will have a time of refreshment and relaxation. If you have lost a pregnancy, baby, or even multiple babies please join with others who have experienced this kind of loss and understand the depth of grief you may feel.

Lost Angels Support Group meets the second Wednesday evening of every month from 7 to 9 pm at the First Baptist Church, 1351-28th Street East, Prince Albert.

If you have any questions regarding this type of loss, the Christmas Memorial service, or any other kind of grief please call Dan Stroman at 306-961-3129 for more information.
