Prince Albert Police have released new details on an accident that blocked an intersection in the city overnight.

Around 8 p.m. Saturday night Police were called to a school in the 400 block 23rd Street East which had been broken into.

Police were told by witnesses that a few suspects had left the scene in a white truck.

The truck was spotted by officers a short time later at a red light at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and 19th Street East heading north.

The vehicle ran the red light when the driver spotted police, according to reports and the officer followed with lights and sirens on.

The driver of the vehicle ran a red light at the intersection of 15th Avenue and 15th Street East and collided with another vehicle in the same intersection.

Officers report that bystanders at the scene attempted to provide medical assistance to the two persons in the other vehicle which was hit.

By the time police parked by the truck, the passengers had already fled the scene of the accident on foot.

The K-9 unit was called in to assist and one suspect was arrested on scene.

Two other suspects who fled were arrested at Victoria Hospital a short time later.

Two victims of the crash sustained minor injuries and were treated by Parkland Ambulance paramedics.

Police say the truck was stolen and the matter is still under investigation.
