Red hot Bears move into 2nd with win over Sharks

The Prince Albert A&W Bears are a piping hot team in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League.

They beat the Battlefords Sharks on Wednesday at the Art Hauser Centre 3-2 for their third straight win and their eighth win in their last nine games.

With their hot streak, the Bears now have 32 points on the year and are now in second place, surpassing the Swift Current Wildcats for that spot.

The Bears got goals from Hannah Koroll, Tylor Lindsay and Madison Casavant—all in the second period. That gave the Bears a 3-1 advantage heading into the third.

The Sharks scored with 15:52 left in the third period as Laura Harper made it a one-goal game, but the Bears were able to hold on late.

Bears goalie Shayla Youngman made 22 saves in the victory and has a 4-1 record on the year.

The Bears will face off against the first place Saskatoon Stars on the road Dec. 13-14, their last action before the holiday break.
