Radio Bingo Announcement

Dec 10, 2014 | 2:20 PM

After almost 6 years on the radio, the Victoria Hospital Foundation’s Radio Bingo program is wrapping up and coming to an end. Radio Bingo launched in 2009 and has been a hard working program for the Foundation since its inception. Since 2009, Radio Bingo has raised thousands of dollars with the proceeds benefitting the Victoria Regional Hospital and purchasing much needed equipment in areas such as the operating room, the endoscopy suite and the medical laboratory.

Rawlco Radio says it’s been a pleasure working with the Foundation:

“They are great partners and they ran a first class game for the community. They awarded tens of thousands in prizes and raised many thousands for health care in this community. Having said that, Rawlco is looking forward to radio bingo continuing in the new year with a new non-profit group. We recognize there is a loyal following to radio bingo and I’m pleased to say a new non- profit is stepping forward to keep the tradition alive! Radio bingo players should stay tuned for more news in the weeks ahead,” says Karl Johnston, GM Rawlco Radio.

“Radio Bingo has been a tremendously wonderful program for the last 5 1/2 years and we want to thank the community for their support. You have helped your hospital and we are grateful. While we are sad to let Radio Bingo go, we are very excited about our plans to engage our community in new and fresh ways as we continue to strive to bring better health care closer to home,” reflected Sherry Buckler, Executive Director, Victoria Hospital Foundation.

“On behalf of the VHF Board of Directors – Thank you to the participants from our surrounding communities for playing Radio Bingo and helping make Radio Bingo a huge success for many years. The funds raised have purchased needed medical equipment for the Victoria Hospital greatly enhancing patient care for our whole region. A special thank you also to our volunteers and those that have worked so hard behind the scenes making radio Bingo a success for the VHF,” says Dan Fenton, Board Chair, Victoria Hospital Foundation.
